Star players from the Scarlets have visited Jenkins Bakery shops in West Wales as part of the countdown to the big European Champions Cup quarter-final clash with La Rochelle on Friday evening (5.30pm, March 30).
The visit was a big thank-you to the Jenkins Bakery for the support they have shown the Scarlets down the years.
Wales prop Wyn Jones visited the Dark Gate shop in Carmarthen and Tom Prydie and Johnny McNicholl visited the Baker Boy shop in Llanelli’s Stepney Precinct.
Jenkins Bakery operations director Russell Jenkins said: “Like many of our staff members, I am a huge Scarlets fan and it was great to see the players visiting our shops and making connections with the community and their supporters.
“We baked a ‘Come On Scarlets’ cake in their honour.
“We also have special Scarlets products on sale in the build-up to the big match – Scarlets shirt biscuits, on sale at 90p each, and Scarlets rugby ball biscuits, 60p each.
“Our customers really enjoyed seeing the Scarlets players at our shops and giving them good luck messages. You really get the sense that the West Wales community is 100 per cent behind the Scarlets as they bid to make further progress in the European Cup.”
